It's Torino, Stupid

Yesterday's NY Post reported that the host city of the Winter Olympics will be referred to as Torino by the NBC network, not the anglicized " Turin ".

And I think rightfully so. I can understand why difficult-to-pronounce names are anglicized, but for God's sake, how hard is it to say Torino?

I lived in Italy for most of two years, and remember visiting Livorno. The anglicized name was " Leghorn ", a stupid name that I refused to use.

There's nothing wrong with vowels. Hope that they have a good Torino Olympics.

So there's this map of Italy on NBC:

Rome, Naples, Milan and Torino...

Why not Roma, Napoli and Milano?

At least be consistent.
