Wikipedia
I've heard of free online encyclopedia Wikipedia for some months now, but only gave it a proper test drive a couple of weeks ago.
I am impressed by its depth in a number of areas, including science, popular music, politics, sports and geography. Its worth bookmarking.

Wickipedia, according to Roger Simon, also includes unsigned and unattributable "facts", which are often wrong. Apparently it isn't very reliable as a single source.

I have heard of recent problems...but in the quick check I did of maybe twenty subjects, Wikopedia was very good.
But your point is well taken...I wouldn't take anything, even Encyclopedia Brittanica, as a single source.
